On Saturday, October 19th, the Georgia Epsilon Chapter of Phi Delta Theta proudly marked a significant milestone with the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the opening of its new chapter house at 110 Olympic Boulevard. The event was a celebration of brotherhood, history, and the bright future that lies ahead for the chapter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony opened with a heartfelt speech from Thomas ‘Bubba’ Renfrow, Georgia Southern ’72<\/em>, one of the chapter’s original founders. He reflected on the chapter’s early days, sharing stories of its beginnings and offering words of encouragement for the current brothers to continue the legacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jason Sabatino, Georgia Southern ’96<\/em>, president of the housing corporation, then presented a plaque from Phi Delta Theta General Headquarters to Colin Ross ’26, the current chapter president, in recognition of this remarkable achievement. Sabatino followed with the keynote address, emphasizing the importance of the new chapter house as a lasting symbol of friendship, learning, and integrity within the Fraternity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his speech, Sabatino stated, \u201cThis beautiful new house\u2014made possible through the extraordinary generosity of our alumni, parents, and supporters\u2014is more than just a building. It\u2019s a symbol of our commitment to our cardinal principles. The over $350,000 raised to make this dream a reality demonstrates the strength of our brotherhood and the shared vision we have for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He continued by sharing a powerful message about the future: \u201cThis house is just the beginning. What we do within its walls, how we continue to build on our legacy, and the positive impact we have on future brothers will ensure that we pass on something even greater to the next generation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sabatino expressed his gratitude to the key individuals who made the new chapter house a reality, highlighting the leadership and dedication of Bubba Renfro, Bill Olliff ’78, Jim Radcliffe ’81, and Scott Schofill ’83, with John Lavender ’85, thanked for his role in overseeing the construction renovations, ensuring the project\u2019s ultimate success. He also recognized the relentless efforts of the House Corporation members\u2014Jeff Edwards (Treasurer), Shaun O\u2019Quinn (Secretary), and Will Tillman (Member-at-Large)\u2014for their commitment throughout the project. Special appreciation was extended to the twenty-seventy alumni and parents whose generosity contributed over $350,000 to fund the house’s renovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony culminated with the ribbon cutting, performed by Bubba Renfro, Bill Olliff, Jim Radcliffe, Scott Schofill, Jeff Edwards, Shaun O\u2019Quinn, Will Tillman, and Michael Sprott, the newly appointed President of the Chapter Advisory Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the formalities, guests enjoyed a reception sponsored by the Statesboro Alumni Club. Attendees toured the new chapter house, shared memories with fellow alumni, and connected with current brothers, celebrating not just the opening of a building but the continued growth of the Phi Delta Theta legacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
